Creativity in Social Media
A brief introductory presentation followed by a group discussion about how people can creatively use social media to get their messages out.
Our Speaker
Benson Hendrix is a Social Media Lackey/King of his World (although his official title is “Public Relations Specialist”) for the University of New Mexico’s Communications and Marketing Department. Hired to help the university move forward with part of its new media program, he is one of the people behind the camera and microphone for UNM Live – the university’s audio podcast and YouTube site, and will soon be blogging on behalf of the university.
Hendrix graduated from UNM in 2006 with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising, with an emphasis in New Media Communication.
In addition, Hendrix crankily rants (or as some people call it – “blogs”) about Public Relations, Social Media and Technology at www.netnews54.com, and has visions of video-adequacy at YouTube.com/cyberquerque.

The Social Media NM Group meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6pm to share ideas and success stories about all things social media in New Mexico. Each meeting will feature a guest speaker who is blazing trails in their industry using social media. The meetings are followed up with informal networking and idea sharing. So come out and meet other movers and shakers in the NM social media sphere!
