How do you use them?
You can’t see the lists in most third party apps like tweetdeck …yet. And there doesn’t appear to be a way to view them in an RSS feed. So what good are they?
Actually, there’s a lot of good with lists, even in this early stage.
One is a personal reason. I have three lists that are private. I have one for clients, office, and family. Tweetdeck will only pull in so many tweets when I launch it. The lists help me not to miss anyone. I can quickly go to twitter.com and pull up my lists and read all the tweets for that group. They’re not lost in a sea of tweets and I don’t have to go to each person’s page.
@jasoncrouch from Austin said lists are a good timesaver. He created one for Follow Friday.

Lists by geography or industry are helpful for others to find similar people. I have one for NM. It has over 400 people on it and is followed by 25+ people.
@lrockwellatty had this to say…

Sometimes a bio isn’t enough. Many people have bios that don’t say anything about themselves. When I see people included in lists, I check them out. Sometimes I find out more about someone by their lists. And sometimes that’s the reason I follow them.

Excellent article Ashley. I love the new Twitter lists for many of the reasons you stated. Being able to keep track of groups of people without having to manually run around is a huge time saving addition to Twitter. Thanks for the review.
Thank you. Helpful information. Keep it coming.
Brian – The time saver is the biggest benefit for me right now.
Patsy – Thanks for stopping by.
